Objective
The objective of this website ist o introduce the house for rent to prospectives. The site shall give an impression of the object and provide information to potencial tenants prior to visits.
The History of the Property
The object is a former forge estate. It is in the hands of our family since 1955, when my grand parents decided to buy an orphan forge estate from the former owner. The original building was createt about 1900 during times of monarchy in Germany and Bavaria. The basement and the groud floor walls are over 120 years old and one of the oldest constructions in the village. The sourrouning farmers came to have their horses and oxes equipped with metal shoes and their equipment built or repaired, later the agricultural maschinery was maintained by the forge, also handcrafting of fences and handrails ets..
The forge was used until the early 1980s as grandpa retires and was renaturalized some years later. The old forge buldings were broken down, giving space to garden and parking.
In the 1970s and 1980s the house was enhanced by a second floor and an additional part, giving space to two families.
The basement was not created for modern purposes, but traditionally to store food and baverages over the year, while refrigerators were not available.
The property is located in the center of the village, which is both a quiet and a busy place. Quiet, because is less noisy than in a city center. Busy, because it is located next to the main road. There are no direct neigbours besides the owners, but there are a some neighbours in the near area acress the streets.
Living in the house of the former blacksmith
If you decide to live here you decide to feel a little bit of tradition and old Bavaria’s way of life. You are surrounded by people who life here since gernerations – a little bit away from the new building destricts.
We as the owner oft the former forge estate live in the east side oft the bulding, while the west wing is available for rent.
This means we live separated but under one roof and wall to wall using the same central heating etc., but have different entrances (one on the north the other one on the south side). It is a neccessary to be considerate to each other and also to the neighbors. (It is not a place for people who like to have lots of parties).
If you have a problem, we are near to help and assist. Also the neighbours take care of each other - it is a safe place to live.
The garden is easy to maintain and the tools like lawn mower etc. are available. Garden maintenance is not a must for the tenant, we can arrange it. The garden is almost exclusively used by the tenant (e.g. for grilling etc.).
Tradition vs. modern living
Living in a traditional building does not mean that the anything is worn out. We invested an still invest a lot of money to make the place convenient and keep it up to date. In the last five years we made the roof new, installed modern pellet central heating, refreshed the face, renewed the interior wall painting, installed new kitchen etc.
